The Jewish Sheltered Employment Centre manages two group homes that
are situated in close proximity to the Centre. Rosecourt House was owned
by Hyman Lieberman (first Jewish Mayor of Cape Town). The house was
used as a Jewish Youth Centre. In approximately 1980, the house was
given to the Jewish Sheltered Employment Centre and in 1986 Rosecourt
House was opened. Rosecourt provides accommodation for ten residents.
Vriende House was bought by the Centre in 1999 and opened in 2001.
The house houses eight residents.
The criteria for admission include that all residents work. The residents
should have high level of independence, they should be stabilised and
require minimal supervision. Each house has a houseparent who is responsible
for overseeing the house and its residents. The resident each have their
